The General Aviation Communications Network
Aims and Objectives
State and State-owned organisations have the responsibility to consult with their users before making changes to the rules and regulations governing aviation and fees charged by these organisations.
Past events have shown that this consultation does not take place or takes place far too close to implementation giving those involved in General Aviation little or no say in the changes that affect the aviation environment.
There is a need for a communication system so that announcements of proposed changes can be circulated amongst interested parties on a speedy basis so that those with like requirements can get together and take the action that is needed in each situation. There are approximately 10 000 pilots in South Africa, all with differing interests and roles in aviation. There are also numerous people involved in aviation in various ways whose livelihood depends on the survival of general aviation. AWSA is a communications network that will supply all interested parties that have subscribed with regular reports on matters affecting aviation.
Please subscribe if you wish to be informed as to any developments that will affect you. Information relating to GA will then be emailed to you as soon as the monitors of AWSA become aware of it.
This forum can be used to enable interested persons to report an issue that will effect aviation. Simply click the "Report an Issue" menu on the left and complete the box. Your issue will be reviewed and, if it meets the criteria, will be disseminated to all subscribers so that the appropriate action committee can be formed. You will not be informed of flying events through this medium.
It is envisaged that when there is a major issue affecting aviation, a group of interested parties will be put together to form an action committee on that issue. You will be informed of the progress of that committee. You may also, depending on circumstances, be asked to express an opinion for or against a proposed action. There is no cost relating being a subscriber to this forum.
You email address will only be used for the purpose described above. Your email address will not be supplied to any organisation without your prior permission in respect of a specific purpose.
