1. AMENDMENT TO CIVIL AVIATION REGULATIONS

Gazette 32866 dated 11 January 2010 has been published and contains a number of proposed amendments to the Civil Aviation Regulations (CARS).

The majority of the changes relate to amendments to Part 62 of the CARS but the Gazette also includes Amendments to Part 12, 61, 139, 172 and 178.

Please note that comment on these proposals needs to reach the SACAA by 11 February 2010. Contact details are included in the Gazette.

2. ATNS FEES PUBLISHED

The new ATNS fees effective 1 April 2010 have been published in Gazette 32837. The fees have increased by approximately 7.8% over the fees published in Gazette 31977 which were effective from 8 June 2009.

The fees for aircraft under 5 000kg remain zero rated except for aircraft utilising O R Tambo International Airport.
