1. Passenger Safety Charge
Please note that the Passenger Safety Charge change to R16 per passenger with effect from 1 March 2012 was in fact a decrease from R18 per passenger. The previous AWSA News reported the change as an increase.

2. Weather Services Charges
The proposed increases in SAWS charges were published as Notice 104 of 2012 in Gazette 35016 dated 6 February 2012. Comment must be submitted to the Director General: Environmental Affairs within 30 days. Unfortunately this Gazette only came to our attention now. The period for comment has lapsed.
The tariff for 2012/13 has decreased by 5% when compared to the tariff for 2011/12. The tariff is however higher than promulgated last year.
The gazetted fees are:
1 April 2011 to 31 March 2012 - R35.23
1 April 2012 to 31 March 2013 - R33.38 (previously approved as R32.48)
1 April 2013 to 31 March 2014 - R34.87 (previously approved as R33.08)
1 April 2014 to 31 March 2015 - R35.93
